A lot of circumstances have made development of calibre2opds slow recently, and because I don't want our users to think that we forgot them I decided to release a beta of the upcoming 2.4 version.
Head to the usual download page to get it, but remember that, while I use it everyday, it's still a beta version with all the unforeseen consequences that are associated with crude, not-very-much-tested software... Happy new year to everybody, by the way ![]() David. |

Thanks for the update - will take a peek when I get home tonight. Is there a list of new features anywhere? |

No issues on my Win 7 x64 install. Thanks for the updates!
I am still seeing the tags in the book descriptions. One suggestion for the External links would be to change the current listing of: Code:
External links * This book on Goodreads * Review this book on Goodreads * John Marsden on Goodreads * This book on Wikipedia * John Marsden on Wikipedia * This book on LibraryThing * John Marsden on LibraryThing * This book on Amazon * John Marsden on Amazon * John Marsden on ISFDB Code:
External links This Book: * on Goodreads * Review on Goodreads * on Wikipedia * on LibraryThing * on Amazon Author John Marsden: * on Goodreads * on Wikipedia * on LibraryThing * on Amazon |

So I upgraded to Aldiko 2.0, and now unless I use the Aldiko setting in Calibre2ODPS I cannot download a book to my Droid X. Problem is, I have a Nook and use the Nook for that as well.
Am I able to use the Aldiko feed for my Nook? |

You should try it, but I don't think the Nook will work with the Aldiko setting...

So far it's working, I pointed the trook to the "index.xml" file that the Aldiko setting used, and bookmarked that. I was able to get to the feed....downloading a book now

Success!!! Got the book and refreshed it with my library just fine!
Just a note that when using the Trook setting all I had to do was change "Catalog.xml" to "index.xml" and bookmark that one. |

I am not sure - why not try it? I do not have that combination of devices (either one in fact) so cannot test it myself.
The problem is that the various reading programs seem to deviate slightly from the official OPDS standard. Originally calibre2opds was going to produce a fully OPDS compliant catalog. It was found that this meant some of the common reader software that was based on earlier versions of the OPDS standard no longer worked with the calibre2opds generated catalog. This means that one needs to tweak the catalog format for such programs and thus the introduction of the compatibility mode option into calibre2opds. The unfortunate by-product is that it is not always possible to produce a catalog that runs with all reading devices/software. If at any time people point out any minor mods that can be made to the catibre2opds catalog formats that make them more portable between devices then the suggestions are always going to be considered, and if no issues are found they would be incorporated into the next calibre2opds release. |

Were you using the 2.4 beta version of calibre2opds? Starting with the 2.4 release the name of the top level file is now index.xml /index.html rather than catalog.xml/catalog.xml as used in earlier releases. This is because many web servers default to this form of name so it is a defacto standard that it seemed sensible to conform to.
