Even on the Sony, material after "The End" can seem to be in the last chapter. With Kobo, or any epub reader / app, all that's needed is a TOC entry to the start of extra material. There are a number of ways to ensure this depending on which epub creation / conversion tool is used. |

And to get back on topic, I'd like to know if it's a bug that when reading ePub that the time left when reading option for doesn't work. |

I really don't get the obsession some people have with page numbers on ebooks. It's possible to put them in a TOC, though I've never seen them in TOC on either the Sony PRS350 or T1. I've accidentally left page numbers on a TOC. Ebook creation guides abhor any use of page numbers anywhere for good reason as with fontface / fontsize / margin / spacing changes /different screens they are meaningless. I have 3 sizes of eink screens and maybe 3 resolutions of 6" size, so maybe if you only have one spec of screen and never change anything it can work. I often use larger font face and line spacing and margin if annotating and smallest that's visually comfortable if just reading, which is rather different amount of words per page on tiny PRS350, my 6" long aspect ratio phone, Kindle PW3 and the Kobo Aura H2O for same size of text. |

Nook used to show page numbers in the TOC as well, back in the days of the Nook ST. That was how I estimated how long a chapter was before I moved to Kobo.

I recall the rage that swept through the old Official Nook forums when this change took place. Y’all thinking this page numbers change is a lot haven’t seen anything compared against that. A shame those forums have since been shuttered to the point that I don’t think anyone can access them now.

The Tolinos and Nooks do this also. (Also the Kindles, when there are page numbers.)

It must have been something that happened on a book-by-book basis, because my Glowlight Plus (2015) still shows page numbers in the TOC, even on the few books I bought recently.

I use the “page” numbers to give an indication of how long the book is, something that’s not possible with percentages until you’ve read several pages. Or, I suppose, use the new progress bar (which I didn’t like and have turned off). I’m not sure I’m that obsessed about them though, but I would miss them if they were removed!

agreed. it makes it easier for me at least to decide if i want to start reading the next chapter or not, i definitely prefer it over time left in chapter. I really don't get the obsession some people have with not having page numbers on ebooks. best wishes koboy ![]() Last edited by koboy; 10-07-2019 at 05:56 PM. |

I forgot it was back, because now the bottom slider shows how many pages are in the chapter, which is all I really need. |

it should sync most things. It will definitely get new books and updated reading locations. It should get annotations. I'm not sure if it will check the dictionaries. In most cases, it won't get a firmware update. It might check, but, from memory, will only download the update if Kobo has marked it as high priority or something like that.
