My Tsmile case took about 10 days to arrive in the US from China. It's not bad looking, and the fit is good.
The magnet is fairly weak though - I wouldn't expect it to hold the cover closed in a bag. The front cover seems thinner than the similar case I got for my Glo. I'd be happier if it was a bit thicker to protect the screen. All in all, worth the price. |

I've taken the plunge and reserved an h2o to pick up at Argos tomorrow.
For the cover I've had a look on eBay and I've read this whole thread. The three from eBay that I'm looking at are... Slim cover with metal. £7.99 Slim cover with stylus loop. £4.98 from CN or £7.99 from the UK Plain cover £7.50 from HK, can't find it in the UK. My preference seems to be for the one with the little metal bit. The loop may annoy me and I've no need for a stylus on my h20. My apologies if I've missed someone commenting on their case, but has anyone tried these cases, in particular the one with the little metal part? The only mention I've seen in the thread is someone saying the plastic covering on it should be taken off, and someone else didn't seem to be too happy with theirs. If these aren't up to scratch then it would seem prudent to wait until Gecko come out with their slim cover and people try it to find out if it's the best choice, or the other cover they do. |

For the H20 I've got the official cover from Kobo which is £29.99 from Argos and I like it. The Geko slim fit which is out in a couple of weeks is supposed to be waterproof, I've ordered that as well for holidays. |

I also ordered the Fintie case, and the quality is much higher than the Tsmile.
The magnet it of a good strength for keeping the cover closed and works well with the Sleep/Wake function. It hasn't triggered it accidentally while folded back either. It's much sturdier without seeming bulky, and the edges and interior are finished nicely. The exterior fake leather is pebbled and looks nice. Still lightweight and slim too. Keeping it - it's a great little case for $11 US. |

Glad to hear that - I also ordered the Fintie case, in purple, but neither my H2O nor it have arrived yet. I'm tempted by this case, too. |

Fintie has it's own site, since the prices can be converted to € I'm assuming they ship outside the USA.
EDIT But yes, the price for the H2O cover is less than a half on Amazon US... $6.99 vs $17.99 Last edited by yayo; 11-23-2014 at 02:00 PM. |

I'm thinking of maybe getting a Fintie case for the H2O and maybe one of their Microsoft Surface Pro 2 cases as well. Both in blue.

So how many covers do you want exactly?
Sounds more like an endless crave to consume Josieb. Btw, waterproof covers are bollocks when your reader is waterproof. Got a sleeve from Catapilar, which makes it fall proof, I dont care when water will come in, thats why i got a H2O in the first place. |

I think you may mean two different things by "waterproof cover". Perhaps one of you means the watertight covers you can put over an electronic book to make it waterproof, while the other means a cover which will not decay if it gets wet so that you can immerse both the cover and the book in water.

I thought I'd give a cheap cover a shot. I got it on eBay from a UK seller for £7 (about 12 American dollars).
You can buy it cheaper from China on eBay here (£6.20 or 10 American dollars) This is the eBay item I bought and it came from the UK. It arrived today, Tuesday. I ordered it at the weekend. I cannot find it on eBay located in North America. The case is thin, and adds very little weight or bulk to the h2o. The material is fake leather and is as you would expect it to be, it is not rubbery and has a textured leather finish. There is flocking in the inside of it, they've been reasonably generous with it so I don't expect it would go bald/shiny too quickly. There are two metal sections which form the magnets. The case closes securely and will not open up without a deliberate effort. The front of the case will slide to the left (using the give in the spine) by about 1cm or half an inch or so. The cover sits exactly where it should be when the device is closed. I'm not sure if that will change as the spine of the cover ages. The rear of the case is shaped in the same way as the rear of the h2o. I had expected there to be a bit of foam as that would be easier to make but it's a nice and neat finish. The port area at the bottom and the button at the top are properly exposed. The fingernail opening for the bottom port is exposed so the case does not in any way impair your ability to get it open. The case will protect little, if at all, against torsion (twisting). The h2o itself is considerably more rigid than the case so if you are looking for a case to prevent you damaging it in your pocket then this isn't for you. The case will protect against impact damage to the screen. This is my largest concern - if I'm reading it in bed and put it aside to go to sleep then I don't want to accidentally smash the screen when I wake up. This case should go a long way to preventing that. I do not think you could stand on it safely with all of your weight, but it may stop the screen breaking if you step on it by accident and move your foot. The case does not seem to be waterproof, and I can't tell if it uses card or plastic inside. The rear of the case which holds the h2o is plastic so perhaps the front is too? I am guessing. I do not think the case would fare well if it was immersed in water regularly. However I will be using it in the bath. I'm just not going to drop in in the bath intentionally, and if I do I'll see if dries out ok. I'm content to continue with this case, I probably won't go for a more expensive better case unless there is a considerable improvement or unless this case deteriorates fast. The sleep functions as it should. Folding the front cover back does not put the h2o to sleep, I've had a good shot at making this happen but I can't. They seemed to have got the balance right with the magnet. In the bag it arrived in. Open and empty. Front cover closed. Rear closed. Open. |
