I just found this thread and signed up, but it loks like I'll not be getting the original books that were on the promotion. After all the excitement over Old Man's War and Mistbourn I feel like I'm missing out.

Could anybody send me a copy?

Yes. PM me your email address, and tell me which format you want.

I've received my Crystal Rain email at 1:08am this morning. I've already almost converted it to LRF with curly quotes and apostrophes. I've even made a simple fix to the HTML so it loads easily into Book Designer with the line spaces kept as they should.

In the HTML code it has
Code:
<p class="noindent">
What that class of noindent does is add a margin of 1.5em to make the line space in your browser. Book Designer doesn't deal with that to give you the line space you should have. So what I did was replace th above code with
Code:
<BR /><p class="noindent">
Book Designer respects the <BR /> and puts in a line space. Works quite well that way and was very easy to fix.

I didn't understand anything.
Sorry
Not your fault though.

I thought you could give some examples of html text and how it looks in BD before you fixed HTML and how it looks after you fixed it.

The only think I managed to do what fix the HTML so that the lin spaces that seperate different sections were kept as it automatically so I didn't have to run through the text in BD with the HTMl to manually put them back in.

Just found this thread. I'm glad to see Tor finally starting to get behind the ebook movement. Now if they'd start selling more of them too

Download links for free Tor ebooks

As it happens, the download links for previous Tor ebook releases still work. If you are late to the party, and missed some titles, the following may be of use to you. I've used TinyURL to make links easier to deal with in this message:

Brian Sanderson Mistborn PDF

John Scalzi Old Man's War PDF

John Scalzi Old Man's War HTML

John Scalzi Old Man's War Mobipocket

Robert Charles Wilson Spin PDF

Robert Charles Wilson Spin HTML

Robert Charles Wilson Spin Mobipocket

Mercedes Lackey/James Mallory The Outstretched Shadow PDF

Mercedes Lackey/James Mallory The Outstretched Shadow HTML

Mercedes Lackey/James Mallory The Outstretched Shadow Mobipocket

Jo Walton Farthing PDF

Jo Walton Farthing HTML

Jo Walton Farthing Mobipocket

Tobias Buckell Crystal Rain PDF

Tobias Buckell Crystal Rain HTML

Tobias Buckell Crystal Rain Mobipocket

I have no idea how long these links will remain valid, but they work as of now.

(BTW: various folks dropped me PMs in response to an earlier post asking for HTML copies of Mistborn. I haven't forgotten you. I've just been hip deep in a new job, and a bit preoccupied. Copies on the way shortly. If you asked for other things, see above. )
