When I had a problem with my K2 I contacted Amazon and they sent me a new one the next day. Then I sent the defective one back in the box it came it with the UPS address label I printed off their website -- all at no cost to me.

Amazon makes exchanges painless.

just put a bit of superglue and that will solve it or uhu glue as well.

superglue will stop any creaking.

If I shake my K3 really hard, or bang it on the table by one corner, then it rattles. Should I send it back?

Only jesting!
Mine does however squeak at the top-centre edge, even in the case, although it doesn't seem like a major problem.

Don't do the superglue though...baaaaad idea.

if mine was at the top like some of the others it would not be so bad but its near the bottom where the information is stamped. So sometimes when I hold it pushes in and makes clicking sound.

a bit annoying.

My K3 came loose at the bottom and the slide button ceased to function. I called them about midnight on the 20th, and at lunch time today (36 hours later) the new K3 is in my hands, fully charged and working properly. They give you 30 days to send the defective unit back at no charge, and since I had kept the original shipping box, all I had to do was print the label from the Amazon website, tape it to the box and drop it off at the UPS store. The guy at the store even taped up the box for me. It was all very fast and easy, and not a hassle to send back at all. Major kudos to Amazon customer service.

Maybe I should get a new one then, I don't want the side button to go. Then be stuck with it after 30 days.

That really isn't very good advice. Someone might take you seriously, instead of calling kindle support.

It could be more than just 'squeaking'.

Nope. Nada.

I read it both in the case and out. I"ve loaned it to a friend overnight to 'test drive'.

I would have noticed it by now.

hey guys, i've been reading throught threads on this forum quite a bit before i finally decided to take the plunge and buy a kindle 3.

i got mine yesterday and i love it. but reading through this thread has made me notice that my screen bezel is not sticking to the screen properly. if i push down on the upper edge of the bezel i hear a sticky sound like adhesive that doesnt stick enough and a second later, it bounces back up again. also i have noticed that my right next page button does not emanate quite so much of a click now that its been used for more than a few hours. oh and thankfully no sun fade problems too.

what do you guys think? very minor problems? or worth monitoring and possibly asking for a replacement further down the road. everything else seems to work fine tho.

i wonder if amazon gives you free internation postage for returns... i am an international customer - in australia.

I would have described it as a creaking. With my K3 it is right in the middle of the right hand side page forward button. It seems to me like the glue (?) holding the back on
has slightly lost its stick.

I've also noticed that it looks like the gut or what ever that keeps the screen and plastic surround is coming slightly loose at the right hand side page back button.

There is a miniscule gap that fine cat hair gets caught it some time! I can press it down again and it slowly lifts up again.
Exact same thing happened to mine. On mine, the gap was big enough to stick a credit card in. And yes, creaking is a good description for the sound.

Yeah, I got something similar.
When I hold it. If my fingers are near the middle of the right side at the back (next to the forward buttons), the back panel seems to "move in" a bit and a small creaking sound can be heard. I don't suppose it is a problem for its performance.
However it is a bit annoying because it is not as stiff as it should be and it is just over a month new product.
Anyone tried to open the case and put it again in order to fix this?
