I don't use Gnome, but I believe there is a setting to enable/disable animations, or choose their level of amazing awesomeness. Try disabling all, that should reenable metacity.
Hotkeys should be available somehow, no matter the window manager (but the method to describe/enable them might be different.) Worst case, there's always xbindkeys. |

That does help, I'll see what I can do later as I'm travelling right now. Please opena bug report so I don't forget.

I found a workaround. Compiz has a plugin that is simply called workarounds. One of the choices is Qt window fix. I checked this box since I believe that kovidgoyal mentioned something earlier about this having to do with Qt, and now everything is working perfectly. Thank you very much for the help and the great software. If there is anything else I can do to help troubleshoot this I would be happy to help.
EDIT: I just tested this with some of the animations on and it still worked. Last edited by lunixer; 09-13-2010 at 05:51 PM. |

Okay, I'll open a ticket and refer to this thread.
Thanks. Enjoy the travel if you can. @lunixer: that setting has no effect for me under compiz. EDIT: Ticket #6806 created. Last edited by capidamonte; 09-13-2010 at 08:14 PM. |

I fixed the tiny cover browser problem, but the other is, as I said a buggy interaction between Qt and compiz/xfwm4.

Excellent. Thank you.
I, personally, can deal with the issue. I don't reboot very often. I'll just take the switch off the launcher. |

problem with system tray batch file
calibre runs and minimises but leaves command prompt on. Can anyone help i think it's because cmd is meant to close after task but system tray is constantly running. I don't wan't a short-cut because that doesn't minimise to system tray
Please Help |

Thank you so much! I have been trying different things all morning with googling to figure this out. I had the same problem before where Calibre was opening in tray but the command box was not closing. Adding start at the front of the command solved my problem. This was my first time doing a batch file so kind of neat to see it work too.
