Went to Barnes and Noble last night and they had a display set up right at the store entrance with two working Nooks, alot of different cases you could buy for it and a knowledgeable employee who was answering questions about the Nook. Alot of people were checking them out and two Nooks were bought when we were there.

Same here. I went to Target fully intending to buy a Kindle but couldn't interact with the demo unit and there was nobody around to ask, so I decided to wait. I stopped at a B&N on the way home and after playing with the Nook decided to purchase. I'm very happy I did, usually I do more research before purchasing but page swipe and being able to download books from the library sold me.

I was a little disappointed to find the first eBook I wanted to purchase was available for Kindle but not Nook. I got over it (or around it) pretty quickly.

The great thing about the Nook is that you can buy DRM e-books from all bookstores selling Adobe ePub.
You can use searchengines like Inkmesh or Addall to see if a book is available at other stores.

The fact that you can 'borrow' e-library books is very intriguing. The selection of those books can only increase over time.

I've never seen a working Kindle at a Target either. It would have been nice to try it out.
