Welcome back Derek! Best of wishes for your complete recovery!
I agree - Kindles (ereaders) in a hospital are required equipment. A few months ago, I spent a day in a hospital waiting room as a friend underwent angioplasty. A Kindle loaded with Nero Wolfe titles saved my sanity! Your Kindle seems to have worked for you! |

Welcome back Derek and glad you are doing well. I hope your heart decides not to attack you again.
Yes, that must have been some barbaric hospital not to have a plug next to the bed so you could charge your Kindle. |

Welcome Back Derek. Here is hoping that you have a speedy recovery.
This sounds like a great reason for getting a K3. "Honey, I need the K3 because you don't know when I might end up in the hospital for a long period of time and I need to have my books with me. The battery life is twice that of my K2. Talk about peace of mind." |

I'm glad to hear of your heart attack. Really. The first one is the most dangerous. After that you'll be on guard and better prepared.
Last month I had surgery and will be out of action for 5 more months. Today is the last day that I have to give myself a blood thinner shot, Enoxaparin. My ereader is a life saver. I don't have to send someone to the book store to buy a book, and never run out of stuff to read. I can't stand commercials, and for the most part TV is uninteresting. I'll watch some DVDs from Nova and the History Channel when I need a break from reading. I'm glad that you're doing well. |

Hi guys! I'm new to this forum. My boss just bought a new kindle, came to the office today and I played with it a bit. I really like it. Here's my question (before I sink money into one for myself) are there any sites where you can download ebooks for free? I listen to audio books ALL the time but I can download them for free from different sites, in mp3 format. Can anyone give me some advice regarding download kindle books or ebooks that will run in kindle?

go the Kindle forums on this site. at the top, in the "stickies" you will see a thread that is marked "free and reduced price....". then there is this site that has many free books, and that should get you started
