I don't think it works that way over here. All "standard" claimaints are treated equally, I think. I.e. if there's 10 million in claims and 2 million to go around, each gets 20% of his claim.

That wouldn't be an unusual percentage, as a good number of parties have special, preferential claims:
- Banks financing a firm will usually have contractual claims on specific high value assets, such as real estate, machinery or even intellectual property. The bank gets to own and sell such assests.
- Suppliers usually have a provision in their contracts that ownership doesn't pass on until the bill is paid. So unused supplies will likely be collected again by them (same as you'll collect your device, which isn't iRex's either).
- If the payment is behind on the wages of the work force, our government will take care of that, and probably gets to claim that back before other creditors get a shot
- The internal revenue service comes before other creditors. Usually when a company goes bankrupt it is a good bit behind on paying its taxes

So, by the time they get around to you and other non-preferential claims, there's probably not a awful lot to go around anymore. But, as you have to write in anyway to get your ereader back, you might as well state your claim.

The first to get its money is the state (usually taxes). Second are companies and individuals that secured a pledge. These are usually banks and investment companies, who required a pledge before they provided their last loan, sometimes suppliers who refused to deliver until they received a pledge. The receiver himself is sitting somewhere in here himself. After that, usually there is no more money left. If there is other creditors like you and me are being paid.

IRX Innovations bought the assets of IREX Technologies and most of the staff is now employed by the new company. As you've already guessed, we need to 'settle-down' and refocus, so I expect we'll live under the radar for some time. But, fear not, development continues.
Hi, Any chance of repair for Line-out Errors?
Or do you know if anyone else can repair this??

I think a line out error is usually repaired by replacing the screen. I don't think there are any new iLiad screens being manufactured anymore by PVI. Hopefully somebody from IRX will respond, but my guess would be that they can't help because there aren't any available parts.

I have a DR800SG. It started getting a line out error a few months ago and very quickly that changed to a completely dark grey screen where you can't see anything but the grey. When you first turn it on you can see that the screen really does look to be OK so it might not be a hardware error. I bought a Nook to replace my iRex but I really want my iRex back. The Nook is a nice reader but doesn't really compare. I also have a line of dead pixels on my Nook and their software support have told me that it normally isn't hardware and have give me a long software procedure to try and reset the device. I haven't tested this yet. It did make me think that my iRex issues might be software related also.

I am really hoping that there is a possibility that I could do something with my iRex but I have no idea what else to try. I tried taking out the battery and that didn't do anything.

If anyone ran into this before and got a detailed restart procedure from iRex let me know?

I've seen iRex state in the past that a low battery condition can also temporarily cause what looks like a line out error. Fully charging was supposed to fix it.

I don't know if that helps any, but make sure it's charged.

My strong advice is do not buy from iRex. I purchased an iLiad, 800 and DR1000 from them and they are all orphans outclassed by pretty well everything else out there now. They turned out to be a terrible comapny to deal with so buyer beware if you send them money. On the bright side, a few fanboys here will warm your heart with unfounded optimism of their always potentially but never happening bright future.

I am very dissapointed with IRex and if they hired the same bunch back, save your money and buy something else.

I sent my DR1000 in with a defective screen. After a month or so they agreed the screen was defective but did not have any replacements available so I had to wait. Then comes news they have closed down. That is followed by a message there is nothing wrong with my DR1000 (?!!) and it is sitting on a shelf. If I want it, I have to arrange somehow for it to be picked up in the Netherlands or it will be scrapped within a week of this message. And there is noone to package it either. I write back a nasty comment on customer service and state I do not know how to arrange such a thing and am told 'thanks for the free DR1000 seeing as you don't want it'.

Never again with that gang. Buy something else.

DR800 is a pretty neat device if you use modded firmware and 3rd party apps. There's hardly any reader on the market that matches it (also 8 inch screen is perfect, for both fiction and academic stuff on landscape)
