Haven't read any of his books (yet) but Carlton Mellick III has produced some interesting titles.
Edit: there is a torrent available of some bizarro fiction that is officially sanctioned by the authors. For those unwilling to torrent, I've uploaded it to Sendspace. Last edited by ardeegee; 09-09-2010 at 06:15 PM. |

I found "The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake" to be an odd read. No dialogue, told from the narrator's perspective, and really, really odd.

It sounds a little like "Like Water For Chocolate", at least as far as people feeling what the cook felt when she was making the dish.

The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers (should probably be here).
Especially the first story in it, The Repairer of Reparations. One of the oddest stories ever written, IMHO. The second half of the book is romance but the first half is all pretty good, but none so odd as the first. James Blaylock writes some strange stuff (fantasy mostly). Very quirky. Most stuff by Rudy Rucker. Last edited by JeremyR; 09-16-2010 at 03:13 AM. |

'Mr Landen Has No Brain'
Morcecambe. Rainy season. Next Sunday. Winona Smith manages her uncle's caravan park. He's ordered her to keep the park dull; the town council - feeling that the resort's image is being damaged by the strangeness of the occupants of its caravan parks - has promised a million pounds to the most normal park in Morecambe. If that million pounds isn't won, the park will close. 18 year-old Teena Rama is 148.7% too beautiful - and gaining a percentage point every two days. Soon no one will be able to meet her without falling in love. Mr Landen has no brain. But he does have a tub of margerine between his ears. Great book so of course it's not available as an ebook ^^ |

I've recently been reading this collection. Some fairly weird stories-- one in a setting where the world actually is as the ancients envisioned it, with a flat Earth, celestial spears, and a Vault of Heaven, describing the end stages of the construction of the Tower of Babel. One in a world with golems and where animal reproduction really does originate from homunculi in sperm. One with some really alien aliens. Others.
