This is something that's always bugged me.

Conservatives tend to bitch and moan about the liberal media and how the academy is a leftist conspiracy. But no one has ever addressed the hypothesis that educated folks like journalists and professors tend to be progressives precisely because they are educated folks folks who take are following what's happening.

And experienced folk are more likely to be conservative.

But yes, it is clearly related to the political tendencies of people in those industries. And it's what you do with it that matters more than your education, except for its effects on the insecurities of status obsessed people of course.

I wouldn't blame that on either liberal or conservative.

Reporters seem to love to misconstrue what they hear, if it'll increase ratings!

Yes, I think ratings and sensationalism still trump political leanings at the moment.

It astounds me that anybody who has ever read or heard a story they have some involvement or knowledge of, typically wind up frustrated about the accuracy of the story, and yet they continue to believe that all the other stories are in any way accurate.

A better indication of bias is probably found in what is not reported.
