Yep. Majority stockholder. My life depends upon whether or not five of you buy InvisibleShields at twenty bucks a pop.

>> ... but the majority of high end users feel it is too orange peel like and rubbery when looking at screen quality ...

You are swallowing someone's Kool Aid - and blindly reciting words. Me, on the other hand, personally actually purchase and use them, and have posted many pictures of them installed on my eReader.

YES - I sell the ZAGGsparq 6AH battery pack off of my amateur radio Web site. But I donate ten bucks off of each sale to either AMSAT, the ARRL, or The Rotary Foundation. I am not in it to make a killing. And I was buying and recommending InvisibleShields long before becoming an affiliate.

Hmmm ... nine out of nineteen reviews don't like their purchase. I would, personally, have difficulty recommending anything so poorly reviewed to this group.

That's just me, of course. I could be wrong.

In regards to Zagg and other "self healing" screen protectors, they are actually a good option for non-touch screen devices like the Kindle. Keep in mind that they will add just a little bit of glare once applied. As for the options, I have tried Zagg, BSE, Phantomskinz, and Bodyguardz.

Zagg - has a very tacky feeling to it, and I do not like the spray bottle application method. It does as advertised, but would not use on a touch screen.

BSE - Very very similar to Zagg, but much cheaper. Sometimes the only difference is how their's is cut out.

Phantomskinz - The best of the four I have tried. Their skins have an extra coating that is applied that gives it a much more smooth look and feel. They work especially great on touch screens. Their application is a bit different , recommending that the skin is dipped in a cup of water/soap solution, but I have found this to be the best method (for me).

Bodyguardz - Better than Zagg and BSE in terms of look and feel, but not quite as good as Phantomskinz.

BSE is generally the cheapest, but I've never bought a Phantomskinz without a 20-30% off coupon which puts them in a good price range. Zagg sometimes has coupons, but their skins are generally pricey to begin with. Bodyguardz are also pretty pricey and rarely a good coupon available.

Zagg is usually the most talked about since it's the most advertised and can be found in local stores like Best Buy. Many people don't realize there are similar and better options, even more than the ones I listed.

OK, no Kindle here, but I bought a JAVOedge screen protector for my nook. Easy to put on, and when I got it slightly askew, was able to lift it easily and re-apply.

My eyes are touchy and I was worried about not liking the screen as well after, but so far it has not been a problem. Readability has remained fine for me. It might have added a tiny bit of glare, but not enough to be a problem. I did get the anti-glare kind.

Thought about leaving the protector off the actual e-Ink screen and only using the bottom touchscreen protector, but we have cats and they have claws and I went ahead with protecting the whole thing.

With a little poking around you can see the reviews of Zagg on kindle devices, past and present as well. Look, I can count too!

http://www.amazon.com/Invisible-Shie...dp/B00154YM3G/ (9 out of 12 - Do not like it)
http://www.amazon.com/ZAGG-invisible...dp/B00209EXWU/ (6 out of 6 - Do not like it)
http://www.amazon.com/ZAGG-invisible...dp/B0021HEJKC/ (2 out of 2 - Do not like it)

I always take Amazon reviews though with a grain of salt.

I just had to call you out on your fanboy'ish posts and it seems that the phrase "What, does this guy work for them or something?" actually rang true for once on the internet. If you do a google search for "Kindle 3 screen protector" this thread is the first one right after amazon links. So the more alternatives the better. Way more than "five" people are going to use this as a starting off point.

No ill blood though. I use Zagg products for their great protection and the fact that they add a grippy surface on my devices. However their optical qualities and properties are not the reason I purchase Zagg. As tested on my iPad, iPhone, Pre, GPS, and gaming devices.

Edit: Here's another alternative from another thread I found:

I noticed Boxwave had a new screen protector available. I've purchased from them in the past and found them to work quite well. The only problem I've ever found with screen protectors is that they're a pain to apply - between the bubbles and dust. After a few minutes of fighting with it, though, it usually works out fine. In the case of the Kindle, the anti-glare protector didn't change the the screen at all; the screen looks just as good as it did before.

Here's the item I'm using: ClearTouch™ Anti-Glare - Amazon Kindle

Eek, reviews don't look great but for $5.05 for both the Crystal and 5 Anti-Glare protectors, I'll try them and report back.

Boxwave screen protectors are pretty good, but usually pricey. I think a lot of the negative reviews are due to people having problems installing them bubble or dust free. The Anti-Glare for $.01 + $2.50 s/h is a steal IMO. That's a better deal then anything you will find on cheap ebay screen protectors.

Living in the desert, whenever I apply a screen protector on anything, I run the shower on hot in the bathroom for a few minutes to steam up the room, turn it off, go get the device, and apply the protector on a towel on the sink countertop, the steamy air pulls all the dust out of the air for a short while and lets me apply it w/o any dust getting beneath the protector.

What arrogance. I only recommend products that I purchase at retail and use myself. I refuse to blindly quote others' "reviews" as gospel. I have a demonstrable 25+ year history of honesty and integrity on the Internet.

Just like to point out, that i love the effect of the protector on the screen. It really emphasises the words and pictures, with its glossy effect.

But then i suppose that really depends on how you like your screen. Some people go for matte laptops, some for gloss ones. It really is a matter of personal preference.

That said, due to the gloss effect, you can see your reflection under low artificial light. If you were reading on the beach or somewhere outdoors on the other hand, you wouldn't see your reflection, and the clarity is in no way diminished. In fact to me the perceived contrast is heightened, as the black text looks better glossy.

Another reason to get a screen protector is if your the sort who accidentally gets fingerprints on everything. With a protector, you can easily wipe it off without worrying about scratching the screen.

My only qualm about Zagg screen protectors, and i suppose all of them are the same is that they are cut undersized, to let the liquid out when applying it.

No, clint, but you did call the BSE skins crap without apparently ever having used one, which is a turn-off in my book. Blindly knocking another product you haven't used isn't what I'd call dishonest, but it certainly isn't fair, either. I say this with all due respect, I don't mean to start a tiff or anything. It just boils down to the fact that I just don't like the gloss and added layer in between my eyes and the text. I'd rather simply keep it in a protective case when not in use, and only use it when I have clean hands and am not in a situation where it's likely to be damaged.

This is a GREAT idea! Should be included in the instructions of every screen protector on the planet!

Welcome to the internet?

Should have fully disclosed you work for Zagg before making your post and I wouldn't have called you out on it. I've already said that Zagg makes good products. However, to the discerning consumer, the optical qualities are not it's strong suit when those qualities are compared to the protection it affords. When the products main focus is protection, that is quite understandable.

Your posts are getting rather tiresome. Honestly, there is no need to be a manchild over this whole thing. Doing nothing but quoting me without adding to the original discussion is pointless. Unless you have something useful to add, you're doing more harm than good to both Zagg and your "internet integrity".

Moving along, JAVOEdge's JAVOScreen Ultra-Clear seems similar to Boxwave's Crystal screen protector, and they both have "Anti-Glare" products.

http://www.javoedge.com/reflexeshop/...15&pbmId=18318

Amazon Purchase links:
JAVOEdge JAVOScreen Ultra-Clear:

JAVOEdge JAVOScreen Anti-Glare:
http://www.amazon.com/JAVOedge-Anti-...dp/B0041EQOI8/

With prices pretty high, I'll wait for these Boxwave products first.

Edit: Fixed the links!

Final screen protector I could find is the NuShield:

That should round out the available screen protectors for the Kindle.

No, I did not. My "crapola" reference was to the "bargains" found on eBay and elsewhere. I never cited the BSE - I do not know them, and have not experienced them. So it would be totally out of character for me to comment - positively or negatively - on a product that I know nothing about.

I don't see how you can logically walk this one back and now say you were referring to "ebay" bargains. I specifically mentioned BestSkinsEver, and in response, you told me, let me quote you now,

It came off as really fanboyish. As if there's no other product like InvisibleShield on the market.
