I've been using the light quite a bit and it doesn't appear to drain the battery any faster. Once all my books were indexed my battery meter has moved very little and I keep the 3G/Wifi on all the time.

I was showing a friend of mine my new K3 with cover and the $%^# put his nose on the inside of my cover first thing.

Yeah, what's with that? It's the second thing I noticed, after taking the very impressive looking K3 out of the box. My K2 cord didn't smell like that. I smells like the vinyl baby dolls that my sisters used to have when we were kids.

It's called an olfactory bonus, 'cause they add it at the ol' factory.

I've got two regular covers here, a blue and a green, and both of them have strong chemical smells. I'm hoping that the smell will dissipate in the next few days otherwise they're going back. I can smell the green one from 15 feet away.

Still waiting, but hopefully monday I receive them both.
That's what I was thinking as well. With my PRS-300 I have the Sony Black cover with no light. I have to remember to bring the clip on light with me whenever I go anywhere. Not a huge deal, but it has been forgotten more than once.

It'll be nice having the light always with me. On the flip side though, I will check to see if the extra weight makes a big enough difference to warrant a light-less cover.

Don't worry, the smell goes away.

Surely that's a pro and not a con.
