My morning routine is, log on. Check passion for pixels (photographic site), check red bubble photographic), then red the two major papers here, then a much longer time here on mobile read before checking the weather and heading off to work. Internet wouldn't work here yesterday, so headed off to work in a huff cos I didn't get my daily 'fix'.

Quote:
But the whole concept of the amount of time people spend on a site as an indicator was deprecated a long time ago. The vast majority of sites are supported by advertising, and advertisers want people to actually view the ads, and hopefully click through to their site and perhaps make a purchase. Google provides unobtrusive text ads to half the web sites in existence, using Google search tech to attempt to make the ads relevant to the content on the site, and gets a fee when the ads attract attention. They are doing very well, thank you, and their market cap reflects it. Essentially, Google gets a piece of everybody else's action, so time spent on Google itself isn't a factor. ______ Dennis |
