You've just answered a question I was going to start a thread about. We can avoid the 15 cents per MB cost of sending documents to our Kindles if we use Wi-Fi instead of 3G Whispernet.

Thanks and congratulations!

Except for my disappointment in the all plastic and somewhat flimsy feeling case I think that the K3 is a significant improvement over the K2.

Do you have Calibre, and if so, did it recognize the new Kindle?

Flimsy case? My lighted cover came today, and is very rigid and well made. Is yours the unlighted one?

I think TallMomof2 means the K3's plastic casing, not the separate cases.

Gotta disagree - I don't think the K3 feels flimsy at all. The back is definitely going to show oil/finger prints, though.

All in all, I love the way the K3 feels in my hand in comparison to the K2

Just my opinion but the K3 doesn't feel as substantial as the K1 and the K2 but I will keep it in the lighted case (which is substantial) so all should be good.

Stether - Calibre doesn't recognize the K3 but I simply sent about 300 books via email to it with Calibre. Since I'm using the wifi mode the file transfers are free (and quite fast, almost as fast as transferring via USB).

I *really* like the improved screen contrast.
