The peeling paint didn't affect me but the fear of it did, and I ended up buying a new cover as the 'apparent' reason was the older covers. The form factor of the PP I think is great too, and I did seriously think about the updated 6" but at the price of the K3 with the new pearl screen and from what I have read, rather stable and reliable firmware/hardware, it was damn hard to go past.

That said I'm not going to get rid of the PP, means we'll now have two ereaders in the house, and having one support Amazon, and the other epub essentially means we can buy/borrow from everywhere and do it at the best price possible. I am certainly getting the feeling that the K3 will be great.
Wow...another current Pocket Pro user. I love how light it is, it is truly comfortable to hold and you can hold it many different ways since there are page turns buttons left, right and on the bottom.

But I also ordered the K3...the Pocket Pro contrast is not ideal in indoor lighting. It's not awful, but I think it should be better.

I'm looking forward to downloading a book when I want it (wherever I am) for those times I just don't feel like messing with all the converting, DRM, side loading, etc.

I think I'm going to miss the battery life on the Pocket Pro though. I'm telling you since the winter I've only had to fully charge it 3 times. I don't ready every day, but I certainly never expected this kind of performance. I would have thought even just being idle it would need to be charged more often than that.

With the Kindle 3 I'm also looking forward to having bookmarks sync up. I won't always have my eReader but I do always have my Blackberry (soon to be Android). So it will be nice to pick up a book where I left off when I have down time.

The new Sony's do sound intriguing and I loved the format of the 505 (reminds me of the Pocket Pro), but I'm looking forward to hassle free buying of books...books I actually want. In doing some searching between companies I found books I would read at Amazon that I couldn't find at Sony. I didn't find anything at Sony that I couldn't find at Amazon.

If Kindle offered ePub support (and ideally ADE I guess...whatever the libraries are using), I wouldn't have a single "worry" as to whether I made the right decision.
