Did you check the settings actually in the Conversion dialog rather than under Preferences? As I mentioned conversion settings are remembered on a per book basis and defaults only used if there are not some remembered ones.

For these tests I used the settings under preferences as I stated in my post. And it worked perfectly. What results do you get?

Okay, I'm getting what all of you are getting.

I now understand that options for controlling the actions at the end of paragraphs are global in the file. You either get a blank line between paragraphs or not. Or you can remove the lines between paragraphs and get an indent. All or nothing.

So if I want blank lines between some paragraphs, I need another step; either rtf or epub and edit that file appropriately.

Yes and no. You can check both boxes and end up with both, an indent for each paragraph and a blank line between each paragraph. This is my default setting.

True, if you want blank lines between only some paragraphs then another step is needed.
