At the moment there are none in the house, or on the property, although one of the she cats of the neighbor has adopted us and already chosen twice one of the outdoor bildings to have baby cats. The first is also she cat and she also adopted us.

I used to have 2 sistercats and two dogs. When they departed I choose to take a break. At that time the new Wife provided enough entertainment and the arrival of a daughter increased the number of creatures to cuddle.

We'll see. This aquarium stuff looks very atracitve,

Fish can be interesting, Beppe. But your little daughter needs something to play with. At least a bunnie, if not a puppy or kitty.

You are not serious. Small children needs lots of supervision with animals. It might be cute to look at, but think of the animal, too.

They actually can last a few days but they need a LOT of aeration in the water. Sea monkeys are just brine shrimp. I used to raise them as food for my tropical fish. (No, I didn't buy them from the back of comic books.

I bought packages of eggs at the pet shop, sea salt for the water, and used an aquarium pump for the aeration.)

As far as 'tricks' go, brine shrimp are photoactive. If you use a focused beam flashlight pointed into their water, they will move around depending upon where you point the beam.

There 3 of my friends, each with a different and apparently contrasting thing, and all of values, both friends and things.

Friend 1.Unluckily or luckily my daughter will have to wait for a a dog the age when she will be able to train it herself. And when she will take the responsibility of the dog when we go in holidays. I have the fortune to have as a personal friend a great and renown professional dog trainer, winner of many international competition. She took to this after riding for Italy in the equestrian team of two Olympics. So we are certain to have access to competent advices and supervision.

Friend 2. This will get a heavy karma. Do not worry, SoS does not think of animals as toys. In reality, from what I know of the very smart individual, he aims at keeping me out of the competition for pretty girls, busy supervising dog and daughter.

Friend 3.Yes and no. More or less. It is difficult and educative, and highly rewarding - even from an emotional point of view to take care of a first class aquarium like Ea showed us. Which is the value in your love for your pets.

oh contraire!

My oldest Shih Tzu (died at 18 years) and my other Shih Tzu (6 years) love children even if the children hit them. They and the cat would even drink out of the same bowl or eat out of the same dish together (as in at the same time). We bought smaller rimmed dishes to try and stop that.

Another dog that I had, German Sheppard - Doberman mix, came with me to visit a friend. The woman has a daughter (about 8 or 9 at the time). The woman had a male visitor. He decided to play "monster" with the little girl. He raised his hands high, spread his fingers wide, and went GRRRR. The dog had never been to that apartment and had never met the woman or little girl. The dog jumped between the two and growled as I had never heard her growl before. The man decided that he needed to be elsewhere. Understand that the dog didn't attack him. She just kept the man from getting to the girl.

The other Shih Tzu I have thinks she's going to grow up to be a little girl. The only time she pulls on the leash is when she hears small children.

I think that Beppe's daughter would be ok with some dogs. But dogs need commitment just like children, and perhaps his little girl need more of his attention. (But I bet that he spoils her as it is.

)

EDIT-
I was very slow posting (cooking and other stuff) and didn't see that Beppe had made a post. But mine still stands. Some dogs can be very good with small children.

I'm very fond of cats, too bad can't have any pets in the current apartment. :-(
