A 10-year old book. I even contacted Amazon CS to see if this was a typo (all the other Strieber backlist titles are 7.99 to 8.99) - they insisted S&S set the price!

When I look at this one, it says right on the page that This price was set by the publisher. I bet they are getting a lot of "WTF!?!?!" emails about it.

I also have the same prices as Dreams for the John Connelly. $17.99 for Kindle edition.

$12.93 for me. Expensive, but the paperback is $18.34.

Are those the prices you're seeing? (Minus the VAT for the eBook, of course - that should make the price exactly $11)

if you notice when the Kindle edition is sold by Amazon it's in the Amazon column and when sold via other source (as in price set by S&S) the price appears in the middle "New From" column, so no need to even click through unless that price seems fair.

Still it's just baffling to see...sadly so.

The paperback prices will be for both mmpbs and tpbs (I didn't click on all the links). Those prices are entirely typical in Australia, and are unlikely to change. Earlier this year an inquiry recommended allowing parallel imports but the publishing industry lobbied successfully to quash that proposal. I now buy my pbooks from bookdepository.

It gave me quite a laugh when I saw it. Although it's not the first time I've seen something like this on Amazon. I once saw a glider chair priced at $1,724,998.28.
