It usually takes about 2 hrs for my Nook to charge. I left it charge before I go to bed and then wake up with it fully charged. See? you're really not missing out on any of your reading time (for those who made a fuss about charging ever so often like ONCE a week, quit complaining!)

I get anywhere from 5-8 days, depending on if I read a newspaper or not. I charge it and then watch the news and eat dinner or something and then it's ready for some reading in bed.

but people love to complain about anything and everything.

oh well, everyone has their own needs I guess.

The battery life complaint is not an overrated complaint for those of us who have the problem. I am on my second Nook, I exchanged the first Nook because of the battery problem but the second one has the same problem. I wonder if my B&N got a bad batch or something, both of them only give 2 1/5 days of reading before needing a recharge, that is with about 2 hours of reading a day in airplane mode with all of my settings on the lowest. I have to take a bus to and from work and it kind of sucks when my Nook needs charging in the middle of my trip. That said, I do love the features of the Nook and just wish my Nook had the kind of battery life that yours does.

I wonder if you can just exchange the battery?

After 2 1/2 days my Nook is down to about 60%. It can go another day or two until it absolutely needs to be recharged.

I'm seriously considering doing just that since the replacement batteries are so cheap.
