Yes, I have bought one $25.00 card by itself. They are only available in that fixed denomination.

Electronic gift certificates are available through the Connect Reader software "ebook" connection. Just go to Gift in the file selection. It says they are available from $5 to $100.

I just discovered you need to have your reader connected to the computer to activate the "ebook" site. Guess they do not want anyone without a reader purchasing from their site!! Maybe that explains the stance Borders took on sale of the cards.

I was irritated that they had no means for someone to get a gift certificate online for Christmas.. My birthday was in January as well and in both cases they missed an opportunity. We don't have a Borders nearby.

I'm notoriously hard to buy gifts for and I had several family members asking if they can get a gift certificate for that 'book thing' and I had to say there wasn't. And having me go into my own software to get one for me in someone else's name kills the element of surprise.
