When the topic only started I was posting every book I have read, but within half year I realised that my tastes are vastly different from the local community and I quit. Didn't find anything interesting for myself in it.

I will need to research that, but in all honesty, when I finally read the "What are you reading thread?" I would have to respond with "the "What are you reading?" thread"

You see the dilemma.
You should probably also post a review of the "Do you post about all the books you read in the 'What are we reading?' thread" thread as well.

I've read it and thought the character development was excellent.

I usually only post about books that I liked enough to feel I want to recommend them to others. I keep track on all that I read (almost) on Goodreads and Shelfari.

I always get ideas for new books from the "What are you Reading?" thread so I feel like contributing to it returns the favour. I also note that when I find someone with similar interests I can keep an eagle eye on what they say they are reading for further ideas. I have used Goodreads to keep track of my books also but I find that site overwhelming - like little Miss Muffet I find our "What are you Reading" thread just right sized. So since I spend more time here and get more ideas here it is easier for me to keep track here. Goodreads admittedly does have the better interface for finding, organizing and listing books read for those of us with a lot of them.

bold is my emphasis.

I forgot about that! I have a few people that we message back and forth about books because we have discovered that we like the same books.

I don't use Goodreads or Shelfari for much more than keeping tracks of the books I've read. Actually when I first signed on to Shelfari, I added all the books I could remember reading (except the danish ones) - needed a few trips to the library for helping me remember - but it was fun to do. By adding posts in a thread such as this I would not get the overview that I have on the other sites. This thread I like more for ideas of what to read.

I will do so. There are many excellent manga, trade paperbacks, and monthly comics that I'm sure many forum members would be interested in.

To start, I think I've mentioned it in another forum but a manga I strongly recommend is "Afterschool Charisma" by Kumiko Suekane. It's set in an academy in the near future where every student (with one exception, the son of a professor at the academy) is a teenage clone of a famous historical figure. Among the students are Albert Einstein, Florence Nightingale, Marie Curie, Napoleon Bonaparte, Sigmund Freud, and Queen Elizabeth I. I've read the first volume (the only one released) and I'm waiting for the next book.

Thanks for reading.

Thank you! That does sound interesting. Make sure you share in the What are you reading thread, too.

I just purchased one about texting that looked fun , "Future Diary" by Sakae Esuno.
Quote:
Yukiteru is a lonely student whose only hobby is the daily diary he keeps on his cell phone. But Yukiteru has a secret that nobody knows about...his cellphone can tell the future! Now a vicious game of survival is about to begin among twelve future diary holders-with the winner crowned god of a new world!
