@Beppe
Now that she has that iPhone, download "Txtr" from the app store, and she can read the Sony books you have for your PRS-600.... |

The application that I am really eager to see is a calendar that could measure up or oven even overtake "calendar" of Treo, which is functional and that became essential in my professional and personal scheduling. |

beppe said "I believe in what you say entirely. It was the guy in the shop that told her that. We are not in the States, so you can imagine what kind of filtering and distortion affect the information we receive here."
lol............... Believe me, our US media is becoming a world leader in filtering and distortion.... |

But with the iPhone they can keep and use all the apps they bought for the Ipod Touch. Plus, with the 16gig 3GS now $99 on contract, there are not many Android phones that are cheaper......
But, for first time buyer and (here in the US) folks that can't deal with AT&T, Android phones are a great choice...... They even have a Kindle app now for Android! |

Beppe is from Italy.
AT&T is not an issue there. Also I believe Apple has to sell their iPhones in Italy unlocked. So you basically can choose your provider freely |

*So far iPhone 4 is apparently only sold unlocked here, so I couldn't compare any offers with plans (but they tend to make the phone more expensive anyway). Last edited by Ea; 07-23-2010 at 08:17 AM. |

>They are locked. It is just a provider with a different name. I do not care because, exactly for these reasons, I use a cheap phone that calls, receive calls and handles SMS. and that's it. It is small, light and I can bring it everywhere.
Really? Interesting. I know that there was lot of discussions last year when the 3GS came out here in German forums that its tethered to German Telekom (which everyone hates ...) Lots of people then went to Italy to get an unlocked one. (edit) iPhone è compatibile con ogni scheda SIM o operatore in tutto il mondo? Doesn't that mean it works with every SIM card? Found that at the Italian Apple Store Right now with the iPhone 4 its the same, German ones are locked to Telekom, in France and the UK the phones are unlocked. I personally use an (unlocked) Motorola F3 for 20 Euros ![]() Last edited by harakiri; 07-23-2010 at 10:34 AM. |
