Before the Reader, I think the Palm IIIxe and the Nokia 770 got the most use as an ebook device. I'm still using the 8125 and the Nokia 770, but as a phone and webpad, respectively.


And out of my 10 devices, 3 run Linux. I find that awesome.

I've used the Garmin iQue 3600 (a Palm device) for the past 3 years with great success. It has a bigger screen than the typical Palm (3.8 diagonal -- for maps since its also a GPS). With the backlight turned way down it was just about perfect. (not so good in sunlight, though). Battery life wasn't great but I have a little power pack with AA's that will more than last a 12 hour flight. Use both Mobipocket and eReader software.
