I assume the book is in epub format. It is, in fact, just a container.
You could unzip it using any program you could imagine. Or install
Sigil and use it to see files in it and change them. The part you have
to remove/change has strange name. If you go to Sigil forum, you
would find a lot of stuff on the subject, some of posts are exactly for
your question.

When I bought my ebook, I received a link similar to this: URLLink.acsm
You need to have Adobe Digital Edtitions. Use wine to install ADE.
You can configure Nautilus (or others file managers)so when you click on your *.ascm link, ADE will start and it will save a *.epub file (your book) in ~/My Digital Editions.
Google "circumventing adobe adept drm for epub" should be the first one.
I did exactly what is there and should work for you too! Don't forget you need to install Python for Windows not Linux. And with wine just run the two scripts.

I just bought a book until now and I do this once. I hope I have not forgotten anything else.
