I was sold a faulty product, under New york state law they are due to replace
They could make a big arguemnt about how I did it (which would be a lie), but since there are no marks on the device, it is spotless, if I took them to court they would have a 99% chance of loosing+loosing their reputation.
Like I said, my experience of B&N, and many other New york businesses, is of client care.

Same deal...

I know this thread is a little old, but I discovered a similar problem with my Nook this morning. I found this thread while searching around for folks with similar problems. While the OP's problem is a lot worse than mine, it's similar. And B&N just told me that they're sending me a replacement on the basic warranty and apologized profusely for the inconvenience.

Welcome to mobileread ....

Sad that you've had your reading marred by a dodgy reader, but you've got a replacement which is good !!!!!

I found this thread when doing a search on Nook scrambled screens. I had this happen to me last week. I had my Nook just over a year and it was 5 days out of the standard warranty. I talked to several people and was refused a free replacement. I was pretty upset but up until that moment, it was working great and I loved it. So I opted to buy a new one. If it happens again, I won't be as generous. Just thought I would share how lucky you both were for having it replaced with no issues. I'm curious how long you guys had your Nook before the screen scrambled. I wonder if that made all the difference.

Noticed the lower lefthand corner of mine is gone dodgey with some lines radiating out. It's still useable and there's no visible damage. However because we moved I fear something might've bumped it enough to cause a crack beneath the surface or something.

Vexed am I as this was a christmass present.
