I didn't like the idea of itunes or the appstore. I checked the ipad in a store and thought I would never use it for reading a novel (I still wouldn't do that, I use my Sony for that). But I got sold with conveniently browsing the internet on the couch in the living room without the bulk of my laptop (which is bound to the desk due to all the peripheral devices, thank good the ipad does only have one main connector) and for reading letter sized pdfs. I read that those would be hard to read on ipad, but for me it's just awesome.

So far, once the apps you need most (...like most) are installed I find it awesome
