Now, supposing there's a new Kindle on July, with new features such as an updated screen technology (above the contrast improvement that exists in DX version Graphite). The question is if there'll be a corresponding DX product, newer (and probably more expensive) than the Graphite, which will contain these feature on July.

I would buy the Graphite today but I'd rather buy a newer DX with better display on July. Even if the latter is more expensive.
I wouldn't bet on July for an updated version of DX since they just released a semi-updated DX... But I think maybe the Kindle 3 has a shot at getting released in the coming weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I HIGHLY doubt that Amazon would release a new DX after the Graphite anytime soon. Why would they spend the time working on the Graphite i.e. new screen and different color just to make it obsolete right afterwards?

I do however think there will be a Kindle 3 right around the corner. Lucky for me, I am going for the Graphite so I don't have to bother with waiting for the next Kindle to be released.

Market segmentation. The Graphite would be the "cheaper DX", the newer one could be the "quality DX"

Amazon, as of now, seems to want to keep their e-reader presence simple. They have a large reader and a small reader. When they got the new 3G modems, they stopped selling the old models with the old modems.

Look at Sony's product line. I know a lot of older people that are turned off simply because of the way they name their products, which seems to be intuitive chronologically but not if you don't want to spend a bit of time researching the differences.

Basically, in my view, Amazon is using the Kindle and Kindle DX as a way to get people to buy the books, much like the way video game companies subsidize hardware in the hope of video game sales, as evident by the way they lowered the Kindle price after the Nook.

In the end, it's anybody's game. These next couple of months should be interesting in the e-reader market.

That's probably right. Gotta let the Graphite DX ride the wave for a bit before introducing something else that's going to supplant it.
