yeah, the site says it encloses the while thing and makes it splashproof and protects from drops.

No. I don't do water activities that require my Kindle being in the same location.

I think this is a great invention, but I'd heard on one of the Kindle blogs that you couldn't access the on/off/sleep switch from this case (unless I'm confusing it with another product). That would be a bit of a barrier for me. I guess if it fell asleep & you needed to wake it, you'd just open up the case, though, right?

I have something very similar to this for my Kindle 2 that I really like and it is cheaper. Purchased on Amazon.com it is a polycarbonate Clear mCover
It does have a plastic cover over the screen but it is a loose piece that fits onto the screen, you can either use or remove it. As far as a keyboard cover - no that is not covered - it is open. But what I do is tape a rectangle of flexible plastic (like overhead transparency) over the top of the keyboard area so I can lift it like a trap door when I need to use the keyboard. Works great! Another advantage of the mCover is that is has a stand on the back so that you can stand it up on your desk like a picture. Handy. |

By the way, I think it's really nice that some companies answer questions about their products here in mobileread... |

To confirm, KlearKase is fully sealed and fully functional. The whole case is covered and sealed while still providing easy access to the Kindle's buttons and controls. The power slider and USB port are accessed through silicone seals. Access to the keyboard, previous/next page buttons, and even the toggle are seamless.
JaneD - you were reading about the waterproof M-Edge Guardian. Reviewers of the Guardian are complaining that there is not access to the power slider. KlearKase is half the price and 1/3 the weight of the Guardian. After the recent Kindle price decrease, the Guardian at $80 is almost half the price of the Kindle, and at almost twice the weight of the Kindle, this is a lot to spend for something you will only want to use in the water. At only 6 ounces, KlearKase is designed to be left on for all day, everyday protection. If you don't need to read underwater, and you want affordable protection both at and away from the pool/beach, consider KlearKase. |

When you folks get your KlearKase, please post lots of pictures for those of us considering the purchase but still sitting on the fence.

As you've noticed, KlearKase is now available on Amazon through this link.
Believe it or not, we were going to announce availability this morning but sold out of our first shipment overnight. We have been overwhelmed by the demand for KlearKase since we announced the product. More inventory was added during the day but sold out as quickly as it was posted. Additional inventory will arrive for sale on Amazon every 2-5 days until our supply catches up to our demand levels. We'll make a more formal release announcement to our followers and mailing list subscribers when inventory levels become stable. We have been thrilled with the demand for KlearKase and are working as quickly as possible to build a KlearKase for everyone who wants one - while maintaining our high standards of manufacturing quality. |

I live in an area notorious for its rain, and this looks very useful indeed, even if it's not available outside the US yet.
However, I think the website would benefit from having higher-resolution pictures that show the case's features close-up in greater detail (current ones seem rather small and fuzzy and due to how they're loaded can't be enlarged via browser image zoom function), as well as the accessory bag with the wrist strap mentioned in the FAQ, which I'm now curious about. Additional photos of the case in use (how easy to put on, using keyboard, etc.) would also be helpful. And it would be nice not to have the site navigation for the features rely solely on javascript, but that's a relatively minor annoyance. |

You always want to have a name that people can find on Google, if it was called ClearCase or "Clear Case" then they'd probably appear on page 3 of the Google search screens while page 1 would be filled with items from IBM's ClearCase product. As an example of poor naming I tried looking for the band called "The The" - I figured Google would just ignore words like "the, and,an,of" etc and then be left searching for nothing but oddly enough it found the band immediately. I guess they must have a team adding exceptions each day.

@ATDrake - Thank you very much for this website feedback. We'll explore ways to allow zoom on the photos, add photos of KlearKase in use (possibly from customers), and also a video to illustrate how it works.

Another useful piece of info would be an exact listing of the case's dimensions (width/length/height). I've been considering getting a dedicated padded carry-bag for my Kindle and it'd be nice to have some idea what size of inner pocket it'll fit into. |

I'll try to post some stuff when I get mine. I have a hunch that with Independence day, it will be next week before I see it.
