The code to check for the use_stylus setting still seems to be there. Aha, now I link this thread to the other. @repods: you might want to check the dr.ini on your SD-card. Note that the dr.ini file is read during startup and written again (or only changes?) during shutdown. So when changing dr.ini it is best to do it when the DR is shutdown.

obviously the main problem with disabling stylus is that you have to do it with an application.. if you use other ways you cannot go back, unless you reflash firmware..

so, is it still there, in dr1000 rc2, the option to disable ? maybe no more ?
can someone please check ?

Oh come on, please read what has been posted. I said that it isn't there anymore, and even explained to you how you could double-check it yourself, using the emulator.

And besides, you can modify those gconf settings in dr.ini, so you don't need to reflash.

Update: to prevent a lot of other useless discussion: If you add the line
/apps/er/sys/power/use_stylus=false
to the file System/dr.ini
on your SD-card, the stylus is indeed disabled on the DR1000S, firmware version 2.0RC2
