What, as a matter of interest, was the reaction in Argentina to Maradonna's infamous "hand of god" goal? In this country, he was reviled as a cheat for years after (and probably still is by many), and the reason that England were knocked out of the tournament that year.

LOL I think we can let it pass with Maradonna, he was like some kind of force of nature. Absolutely amazing to watch him play, like a shorter, faster Pele.

I'm all excited now about the World Cup and seeing all the great Football. (I only watch International football, not league matches, it's more fun to spread it out.)

I don't think we can blame the 'hand of God' incident for getting knocked out of that World Cup - this was one occasion when we really were beaten by the better side.

Unlike against the US in 1950 - not that I'm bitter or anything.

Argentina were unquestionably the better side on the day, I agree, but remember that this was is the knock-out stage of the tournament, and without that goal it would have finished 1-1. Extra time, penalties - who knows what might have happened?
