I've broken a Q7 and a V7. I will be upgrading to a T7 when it comes out. (Price ~ $250 with a 7" screen) These last about 1 school year in my jeans pocket, being used daily.

This is a tablet that supports Ubuntu, Android, and CE concurrently.

The standard Ubuntu plays HD video, and reads most non-DRMed ebook formats.

Android allows you to use Amazon, B&N, Borders, Audible, etc DRMed ebooks.

Standard connectivity includes USB host, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and HDMI. 3G is optional through the USB port, or sometime soon it may be internal on some models of the T7.

May I ask how you did to brake those SmartQ devices? as you still recommend SmartQ, I'm curious. Thanks

I, myself, am actually looking forward to the NotionInk Adam Tablet (www.notionink.in) It is a 10" tablet with available Pixel Qi screen, which allows for an e-ink type mode, for easy viewing in outdoor/bright sunlight situations. Hopefully it will reach the market before the holiday season, but may not be available til the beginning of next year.

You can get the full specs at the site, but the basics are:
Android OS (possibility (??) to run Linux OS, ex. Ubuntu)
10" Capacitive LCD Touchscreen (Optional Pixel Qi screen)
Dual core Tegra 2 processor
16 GB onboard storage (with additional mini SD card slot for expansion)
b/g/n wireless
Bluetooth 2.1
--Optional 3g w/ sim card slot
Full 1080p video playback
HDMI output
2 USB connectors + 1 miniUSB (to mount as portable drive or charging ???)

And I may be mistaken, but I recall prices starting at about $400 for 16GB/LCD/No 3G and increasing by about $50 each for upgrade to Pixel Qi, and 3g

While the Ipad starts out at $499 for a 16GB/No 3g, the Adam with Pixel Qi and 3g will be the same price
