if you choose a custom case from the thepouch you can choose to have a long hard cover too.

Recieved my M-edge cover today. Construction quality is good and it looks quite nice. Now I just have to get home and put my iLiad in it to check the fit. I'll post an update tonight with photos unless someone else beats me to it.

Thumbs up M-edge photos

Fit is good! Considering the "odd" shapes of the iLiad, they did a fantastic job.

Outside and inside pockets for flat items.
Elastic loops on inside for keeping stylus.
Top and bottom connectors and memory cards are accessible.
Hole pattern in back for sound from speaker.

Only shortcoming is that it can be difficult to remove stylus from top/back of iLiad.

Here are the photos.

Enjoy,
Bill

How hard is the fron case across the screen...? Would it stop something pressing against it...?

Thanks for the photos, Bill. Some of us are still waiting for our M-edge covers to arrive -- "en route" by snail mail
Just one thing: You didn't comment on the protection of the front screen. How rigid is the hardboard cover? How padded is the case?
It doesn't appear to add much thickness to the Iliad overall. Looks great.

The outside material is a light weight nylon with 1/32" pad. The front is a single plus a second layer for the outsid pocket (the diagonal line on the front view). The inside of the cover is a 1/16" foam (?) lining. There is a stiffener between the inner and outer layers of material. It has a flexibility similar to a plastic wirebound notebook cover. It could protect the screen from pressure and accidental falls. I would not expect it to protect the screen from a small heavy object dropped from above or from small area direct pressure.

It does provide exactly the protection I am looking for.

Bill, thanks for photos.

I like the fact that the closure is on the left side as opposed to iRex covers where it might get in a way. Is it a velcro?

It is a velcro tab. Wraps to bottom for fastening.

My M-edge Book Jacket has arrived.
I've posted some photos on my blog:

The pouch on the last photo is that of LightWedge Book Light. You can see the insignia of Hogwarts. :-)

Good photos wagnerian. Are the corners rigid enough to keep the iliad from wobbling in its case?

For sure, the corners are very rigid. It's almost perfect, except my iLiad became heavier: Now it's not so comfortable to read while holding the device with one hand.

First Impressions

Received both the eMotion Book Jacket and Sleeve Jacket from M-edge couple days ago. The Book Jacket appears to provide good protection, but also adds "bulk" to the otherwise sleek design of the iLiad. If the Book Jacket is about protection, then the Sleeve is about fit--as in, it's been difficult to get it to fit just right, lining up the printed overlay with the device buttons is tricky. The one thing that struck me early was the lack of access to the SD/CF slots. You have to remove the iLiad from the Sleeve to use those slots which I consider really inconvenient. Still, it is lightweight and provides some protection against scuffs, scrapes, and scratches without the bulk.
