I've flipped through the first few pages of Foundation. The formatting seems to be ok in Small, and Medium text. For Large text, (like other ebooks) justification can sometimes generate more spaces than letters

I say go for it.

Wikipedia has an article on it.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_series
Says "They have a combined length of fourteen novels and dozens of short stories written by Asimov, and six novels written by other authors after his death. It is widely considered the best, or at least the most influential, science fiction series ever."

Thanks Bob! I just happen to have them. Never got to read them, I'll put them in queue.

I didn't read the first Foundation book until very recently. It was quite enjoyable. Dig in.

I liked the "Lije Baily & R. Daneel Olivaw" stories better, personally, but I think I read Foundation a bit too young, I'd probably like them a good deal better now (I guess I should re-read them, huh?).

They're part of the "pre" foundation stories, the first one is The Caves of Steel, if you're interested.

Off topic... In 1965, The Foundation series beat The Lord of the Rings for the Hugo Award "Best All Time Series." I'm not really sure why LotR lost... it could be that the judges hated a fantasy setting.
