I liked the "Lije Baily & R. Daneel Olivaw" stories better, personally, but I think I read Foundation a bit too young, I'd probably like them a good deal better now (I guess I should re-read them, huh?).

Off topic... In 1965, The Foundation series beat The Lord of the Rings for the Hugo Award "Best All Time Series."
