nope. it downloads and saves it within itself. any file. you can then browse it with your desktop via wifi and pull the files off, so you can just use it as storage. but it's handy when you see a small file you want to grab and don't want to bookmark and go to it from your desktop later. i guess you could store something large there, if you want to take the time to transfer it.

The boards can be exported or emailed as a PDF file if you want.

I'm a heavy random notes taker (eg. copy&paste quotes from books I'm reading, etc.) and I'm finding Corkulous to be a great replacement for the Notes app.
scratching on my screen with a rusty nail would be a good replacement for Apple's horrible notepad. but thanks for pointing to Corkulous. I checked out the demo video and it looks pretty slick. worth the $3 I'm sure, so I got it.

I'm liking the FT app. Have you checked out the Bloomberg one? I love it.

Yes, it is good but doesn't work offline.

Hmmm. Some news would be OK un-updated for a spell, but Bloomberg offers real-time investment developments, so I'd expect to use it online. I use it for stock-tracking, for instance.

It is very disappointing, because I was looking forward to having that Amazon selection.
The font hack helps on the Kindle and the update that is supposed to arrive any day now will have two huge fonts for people that need them as well as having clearer print. I don't have mine yet, so cannot comment on how good it actually is.

She's talking about the Kindle app for iPad, not reading on a Kindle device.

Glad you liked it.

I was passing my iPad around at a staff meeting last week and this app seemed to get more "oohs and aahs" than all the others.

Here's a copy of one of my notes on it... From Jim Butcher's latest:

"Susan smiled at me, giving Molly the Female Once-Over—a process by which one woman creates a detailed profile of another woman based upon about a million subtle details of clothing, jewelry, makeup, and body type, and then decides how much of a social threat she might be. Men have a parallel process, but it’s binary: Does he have beer? If yes, will he share with me?"

  1. ReadMe
  2. Scrabble (stopped playing WordGenius because it was too addicting)
  3. CrunchyRoll for iPad and/or Netflix

Scottjl is right, readMe isn't that great, but there's nothing better yet in my opinion. I still search the App store every day for ePub in hopes something better will show up. I was excited when Bookman showed up, only to find it doesn't support ePub. Why does it show up in a search for ePub anyway? I like Kobo, but I hate that the page turns aren't progressive. (It completes the animation after one gesture instead of progressing through the animation with a progressive gesture.)

1) air video
2) atomic
3) real racing
4) backgrounder (really cant leave this one out!!!)

I would have had newsrack on their, but I've determined for me that reader mobile + atomic is simply a better combo. Plus it seems newsrack doesn't get the unread count right.
