Color eink could have more uses than just books. If the saturation, contrast, and pixel density can be made similar to photographic prints, a color eink screen of that nature could replace photographic printing. Of course, it's years away from being able to touch that level of quality, but perhaps in a decade or so...

True, but I only care about the here and now.

And I want a tablet that can do HD video, full internet (including Flash) etc. and that's probably even further away--if ever possible--with e-ink/e-paper technology.

I'm not an avid reader so I'll never buy another device that's only or mainly a reader.

Based on Plastic Logic's previous track record at estimating release dates I would add about 2+ years and say somewhere around late 2015 - if ever. Of course that's assuming they ever get their existing models launched...

Ha, ha! This is just ridiculous. I waited THREE years for the plastilogic reader! Yes... 3 years, since they grounded the company and before the iPad was even a rumour in the net. And besides youtube videos and photos in their site I haven't seen anything! And even IF they had any on their shop, apparently they will deliver only for the US. Even barnes and noble, a partner of plasticlogic, anounced and released the Nook faster!

I just think this is the case of the boy who cried wolf. By the time they get even an image of that reader out we will have the Fujitsu color-reader from Japan! Oh, btw... you can buy that one in Japan now!

Personally... I'm waiting for the WeTab.

2012 is not that bad. At last they started to prepare. We might have a few epic months before the solar flares hit.

Solar Flares? Dang! And I was looking forward to being swallowed by huge, explosive, upheavals in the earths crust. I am disappoint!
