Keep in mind if you put a card in the EBW1150 and plug the USB cord into your computer it will NOT show up as a drive like other devices.

You need to install the USB driver from ETI and then either Ebookwiselibrarian or Impserv to get books onto the card. (Unless you have a card reader as Dale mentioned above).

See the following infomation: Attention: All eBookwise newbies!

Thank you both, I didn't realize it at the time that there were two types of imp files. Is there anyway that I can download the same book again without paying for it twice. I tried going to my bookshelf to download it again but it does not give me that option. Any suggestions.

I will download the usb drive again although I have done it already. I have registered and everything it is just that when I connect my ebook reader it does not show that I am getting a signal for the transmission. I think I have tried everything. I don't understand how it worked during the registration process and not for the download.

I used the phone line instead and just found out that the number that was dialed was in TRIBECK and cost me 4.30 a minute. It took 30 minutes or more to download the book the first time. This thing in costing me big bucks during the learning process. I now know not to use the phone line. URRRRRRR!!!

You can normally download again in the different size for free. If not contact the web site and tell them you got the wrong version and they will allow you to obtain the correct version for free, either by refunding the original price or sending you one.

Does anyone know if I can redownload a book that I already purchased and don't want to pay for a second time. I downloaded the wrong format the first time. It should let you download directly to your computer once you pay for it but of course that's not the case.

The person sent me the files to upgrade. So I am now waiting for my Smart card and reader to come to see if this works. I will keep you updated.

Mary,
I sent you a PM but got to wondering if the firmware on your ebook is too old to update. I'll take a look on eti's site just in case.

Both my devices had been upgraded before I got them so I have no experience with this part. Once you get it upgraded things should go smoother. Just go back to the ETI website and start over having NOTHING but the upgrade files on the SM card and slowly follow each step carefully.

hi, liz here. i just got a gemstar ebook 1150 too. well just came today! but i think i should have bought an ebook wise off the site and save money on the medai card and stuff. oh well.it was in my price range. i bought it off ebay. i do not have a smart media card with it. so i have to buy one right? i read through your form and you all said get a 64 - or 128 mega byte Smart Media card. can that be any name brand OLYMPUS, or a SAMSUNG? also what is a PC reader? also what sites can i get books off of? the ebook mall does not seem to have much. is there any screen protectors that i could get? also what is a firmware? sorry for all the questions, but i am very happy.
