It's another reason buying a Sony e-reader in Canada is aggravating. I can buy the title -- it is sold in Canada by the Sony store -- but it's $10.49 vs. $0 for US residents.

I'll have to see if they ever send me a newsletter (don't recall getting one) and look at their HTML to see what they do. Of course, you have to wonder why they don't update their own web site to accomplish the same trick.

Koland, I have never used a coupon to get a freebie, I have just added them to my cart and checked out and it downloads automatically to the reader library. The only time I have used a code is to get 20% off or to register a gift certificate. Is this what you were talking about ?
I suspect something similar. It was a special code to get a free book (one not normally free and it was for a specific book, not just any one in general). The process was tedious and could have easily been done in a single step, if their programmers were instructed to make it so (but, then again, it's obvious that Sony cares little for the customer experience, not just in their software, but in the way their readers work).

Hmmm ... this exact item is available for $2.99 in Canada at the link above. Not free, but a reasonable facsimile. Especially since the price is just under $10 at Kobo and just over $10 at Sony for me.

OK, I'll bite. sounds like a fun read.
