My favorite part was right at the beginning:
Let's not talk about video integration. Or new 'interface paradigms.' These aren't CD-ROMs from 1993. It seems as though this is what many people see as the 'future of ebooks', but I very much doubt it. I think most people who buy an ereader did so because they want the exact experience of a normal paper book without the associated hassle that comes with physical books. I'm not even particularly keen on illustrations in novels. Why would I want full color video clips distracting me while I'm reading? I can see the advantage for non fiction books, but novels are fine just the way they are. |
