As you can see it is not any book you want, just books that have this option. So if that is your main reason for getting the nook you may want to reconsider. I like my nook but I like my Irex 800 even more. If you can afford the extra money I would consider the 800. If not the nook is a good reader in my opinion.
I guess I wouldn't know which books or how many books are in the ready for browsing section. You are right about that. Hmmm...

As for the Irex, do you know experience the slowdown in page turning deep into a book and in 3G connection like it described in this article? 3G is nice, I might use it once in a while, so if it's slow I don't think it will matter to me that much. But page turning speed is very important, I wouldn't want to take a chance there.

Hmm... I'm back to wondering.

I have not experienced any slow downs in page turning deep into a book. The 3G speed is slow but I tend to buy most of my books from Sony so it really is not an issue with me.

Page turning in ebooks is extremely quick, you hardly notice it. I am sure nobody would complain. I have some complex PDFs with full screen pictures and text on them, however, -- one page on average about 300 kb -- for those a page turn does take about 1-2 seconds. 300 kb, of course, is more data per page than a whole ebook.
