Well, Joebill (or rather, Jim, if I may...) I shan't be asking you which millennium it is next time I forget. I had a look at the Astronomy Picture of the Day, btw. Very nice. Looked somewhat like pomegranate seeds but apparently I was looking at the bright points on the sun.
Oh and Geoffrey, you had a thread going on in the lounge asking what was growing in people's gardens. I wanted to post a picture of the bleeding heart plant. I had a photo from last year and by the time I had stopped worrying about whether it was cheating to post that, I went back and the commenters had moved on to talking about something else entirely... Zelda, I'm so glad you're really in Paris. I read today that they're staging a production of The Railway Children in the abandoned Eurostar Terminal in Waterloo - which has nothing much to do with anything, really, except that it made me think of you. And hello Sparrow. And Animedude, thanks for buying the book. I missed you out from my round of grateful thanks when I was rushing out the door last time. Threads meander in and out of topic very easily and quickly - if you want (PLEASE DO) to post a garden-related photo, then ignore the tangential talk and bring us right back on topic .... (doesn't matter if it's old - just post it - it's another way of brightening up our lives, by seeing plants from far & wide). |

Thanks for reading it, Dadioflex. And, even better, for quoting a passage from it.
I really appreciate you taking the time to post about the book, Helen |

I had a lovely review on Breakout Books blog and took part in a Q&A if you are interested in learning a bit more about the background to this book.
Also, LibraryThing and Goodreads are hosting giveaways for print editions of the book this week, in case you are a member of either site and would like to sign up. |

I have done a Q&A on Alison Wonderland here.
The book is available for the kindle or through Tyger Books in epub and mobi formats for £2.99 or $4.99 using the code 'tyger'. It's also available in paperback (discounted at WH Smith, Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com) |

Thanks for looking. |

Wow, what beautiful eyes you have, Moe.
Hey, Dadioflex - did you ever finish the book? I hope you enjoyed it. |

I'm not a literary fiction fan, but I loved Alison Wonderland. It's a delightfully quirky, character-driven odyssey.
The literary fiction I've read (or at least attempted to read) in the past has always been hard work. In Alison Wonderland, it's Smith's words that do all the work. I urge others, who like me are wary of anything labelled "literary fiction," to take a chance on this book. I promise you won't be disappointed. |

I'm hosting a giveaway for signed paperback copies or ebook editions of my books on my blog this weekend as part of Blogfest 2010: dozens of book blogs have hooked up so you can go on a kind of treasure hunt, visiting all the blogs with the chance to win prizes along the way.

Alison Wonderland is currently on sale at $2.99 at the Amazon kindle store or $2.99/£1.99 for a kindle or epub edition of the book at Tyger Books.
There are quite a few reviews up at Amazon now - thanks to anyone reading this who has reviewed the book, I appreciate it. |
