I'm typing this on my iPad. It's a different experience than with real keys - you have to keep your fingers elevated. So it's rather difficult while sitting in my easy chair as compared to my laptop but I can feel myself getting better at it even as I type. Just learned that I can make the type bigger which helps a lot and the spell correction is very good.

I can easily see this replacing my laptop since I have a desktop for any heavy duty work I née to do. Coincidentally my son called me this afternoon to tell me that his hard drive is dying, and I have decided to let him take my laptop back to finish out the school year.

The scrolling in this comment box doesn't work right though. So I dont think that typing will be a efficient as on the laptop. But since I'm not a great typist to start off with the difference might not make much difference.

I do have a little Bluetooth keyboard which will work with the iPad but I need some sort of laptop desk to use it I think.

Assuming they hadn't already replaced their desktop with that laptop then I could see that being the case or maybe we'll see an increase in desktop sales since people would have more portability when they needed that and more power for less money if they went back to a desktop machine at home.
