Thumbs down What's up with this?

I went to pick this title up, and discovered that this title is no longer for sale.

Riverworld by Philip Jose Farmer

It now says "NO LONGER ON SALE".

I've never seen a title come and go so quickly before! What gives???

It's a MacMillan title, so has been pulled (probably from all ebook stores) while they build the infrastructure for the agency model.

I bought Riverworld as soon as I saw it mentioned in a thread here, because I was sure that the price would go up today. I hope FW comes to some sort of agreement with the Agency Model publishers because I still have a Micropay balance.

If you look at the prices of titles still being offered by FW, you will see that the good deals that once existed are gone.

I like FW's layout a lot more than Kobo. Kobo's not friendly to dialup. Also, FW sells multiformat books; Kobo doesn't. Since I don't buy DRM'd ebooks at all, Kobo is useless to me.

Fictionwise, as an aggregate of many small ebook publishers of non-DRM'd books, has a competitive niche in the ebook market if it can figure out how to capitalize on it.
