I am a little suprised that someone isn't writing more applications for these readers though !

Well, some tried but stated that the 600 is quite a different animal to the 505. Getting additional features for the 505 was kind of an addon (not so much implemented within the firmware or so, but that's beyond my knowledge to be exact here), while the software of the 600 seems more "professional". Sony probably didn't want that people mess with it, too. What a pitty. PRS+ for the 505 was and is awesome.
