Regarding ADE, I've only actively used it maybe two times in three months. It does work with the PRS-600. It's like a sort of companion to the Sony library software, for books not sold at the Sony store that have the Adobe DRM. If you buy one of those books, you have to authorize your computer and device with Adobe. Then a link will appear in ADE to download the material you bought. You can also use it to view the ebooks on your computer. It might also have some use for library books but I'm not sure.
If I have something wrong here, someone please correct me. |

Yes... it have the drives to ADE can talk to the Sony reader. Yes and no... see above. Have you every created an Adobe Id? If not, you might have an issue because the Sony software created an Adobe ID for you. Perhaps it is your Sony username/id... you could try that to "authorize" ADE. Quote:
Good luck to you. BOb |

I uninstalled Sony, restarted my computer, and redownloaded. My PRS600 firmware is up to date...the reader library still will not open. It's on the desktop but won't do anything...

I'll add to pilotbob's post.
You have ADE installed and the Sony Reader Library? They both have the exact same log in and password? (They also have to have the computer and Reader authorized to them.) You said the Reader Library doesn't open now. Have you checked the DEP? This post has some nice directions on how to turn it off for the XP and let the Library open. This is from that post.... Quote:

I had this problem this week. I tried every fix I could find, to no avail. So, I was browsing through MobileRead again looking for something else to try, because my hair was getting really thin by this point and in the thread "Sony won't run now" someone mentioned using a free program called Revo Uninstaller. I was skeptical that it would work, cause hey, nothing else seemed to, but it did and I'm running Reader Library again.
![]() If you have tried this program and it didn't work for you, my apologies. ![]() Last edited by AlwaysCastingOn; 03-20-2010 at 03:44 PM. Reason: Adding link to a thread |
