Yup, about time.
I'll probably buy a couple of these, he's not one of my favorite writers but a couple of his books are near classics. |

Though it would take more than 15% to get them down to the $8.05 he quoted. |

Hi Marcy,
No there is no coupon needed, the discount is already included in the price and is listed right next to the 100% rebate icon. But if I had a coupon I would be happy to share |

Yes i'm aware that the price is already marked 15% off. What I was also includeind was the 100% rebate which is prettyMich 50% off.
Though are math is not the same 18.95* 15% = $16 .11 $16.11*50%=8.06 |

The list price is $18.95 and with 15% off that, regular price is $16.11. Club price is $16.11 with 15% off making it $13.69 for the club price. |

But whatever. I love the 100% micropay rebates. Of course the problem is, I now have so many books to read, that pretty much the only time I buy more is when there is a 100% rebate - which means I'm never actually spending my micropay dollars. ![]() |

Can anyone recommend a couple of his books. I've only read The Firm and The Last Juror so far.

In my view, his first three were the only original ones worth reading: The Firm, The Pelican Brief (much better than the movie), and A Time to Kill.

To be fair to Grisham, he was echoing the publishers' line about pricing, and was talking about how the publishers wouldn't be able to make money if 50% of the readers in 5 years switched to ebooks, and the ebooks were priced at $10 when initially released vs. $28 in hardcover. He said that that sort of pricing would be a problem for less established authors.

Essentially a 100% rebate is buy 2 for 1. Which is 50% You buy one book for 16.11 and you can buy one at equal price or less. Another way to do the math is as follow: Two books cost $32.22 and you paid only $16.11 $32.22/$16.11 = 50% If you where allowed to use micropay rebates to buy books AND get the rebate then the discount would be 100% but they don't so essentially it becomes a 2 for 1 sale. There are exceptions, on sales and any rebate 20% (I don't recall the actual cap) or less. So you can get more than 50% off. The math gets more complicated to find the actual discount so I'll save from showing it here. Quote:

Whenever I heard Stephen King's name I'm reminded of Garth Merenghi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garth_Marenghi) and his classic show Garth Mereghi's Dark Place which mocks the spiritual/horror/hospital dramas of the 80's.
(though I have no idea if Stephen King is remotely like him, that's just the link I've made in my head) |
