In my search for a light that did not create a "hot spot" (bright reflection) on the screen, I tried one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Mode-10-LED-Fl...item414db7e0f7 While reclining in bed or on a couch, place the light on your forehead. Looks silly, but works! A slight twist of the reader directs the "hot spot" away from the viewing area. The small light is not objectionable to anyone sleeping nearby. |

I use a cover on my Aluratek Libre (same as JBL) that was made for the Sony PRS300. This is the clip on cover made by Sony . I removed the clip and used velcro to attach the Libre to the cover. When the cover is bent around behind the Libre, I can attach a MightyBright to it and this works well. A smaller clip on light would be better, but I used what I had.

It does a good job, but the MightyBright is fairly heavy as it uses three AAA batteries so it makes the reader a bit top heavy. A smaller light would probably be better. I still prefer using a floor lamp, but understand why she cannot go that route.

I do what Ghosthawk does....the photo album cover, the velcro, the mighty bright. Next I plan to make a fabric slip case to slip it into when not in use, though my paperback book covers work for that too.

I have used two lights for reading, seemed to work well. When I read on my palm outside, and it was dark, I'd use this clip on light I found at Books a Million. It looks like an Ipod shuffle, forget then name, but it clips on to your lapel, or collar whatever the light focused on the book and it was great for reading. Except when I was lying in bed reading at night. Then I used a headlamp. Works great for me, had a straight stream of light. The hard cover I use would work great for clipping on but it's bulky. Usually the Jetbook seems to work great on reflected light. Good luck!

My solution is simpler. I read on the jetBook in daylight or strong room light. When I want to read in the dark, I pull out the SD card with all my ebooks on it and put it in an old PDA with the backlight set to the dimmest setting. Works fine.
