Yep....

I even tried puting that file in the root of the SD card both with the original file name that it un-RARed and adding a .bin to it.

Might be a clue here. It should have already had .bin on it when you un-rared it. Have you told Windows not to hide file extensions?

Your right it does. But when that didn't work I was just trying everything I could think of.

What I can't figure out is why doesn't this thing reconize the firmware update that worked before. I guess I will try reformating the card as a FAT16 when I get home from work later tonight.

I have just found out that you can not load new firmware off a card that has been formatted for FAT32 even though it will work just fine for reading books off of. This is something that either needs to be addressed in a future firmware update or needs to be posted prominently in the F.A.Q. and the instructions for doing a firmware update...

Apparently when I pulled out this card to use with the PP instead of the camera it was formatted FAT16. I had to reformat when I was moving books around and seing witch was faster USB to PP or dedicated card reader I scrambled the card by not powering off the PP before removing the card and set it for FAT32 that time.

It is in the faq, that's why I was telling you to use fat16 because I had ran into the same problem.
