I seldom cry at books. However, I think the hormones were kicking in this last week. I cried at one of the short stories in CatFantastic II - and I cried over the Dan Jansen commercial for the Olympics.... you know, the one where they show him after he lost right after his sister died, and he's just sitting on the ice with his head in his hands? (I cried when that actually happened, too...)

Same here! And it's definitely getting worse the older I get. Last time was a couple of days ago when we watched 'Le professionel' (French movie from 1981) and J.P. Belmondo got shot

Nope. Never. It just gets really dusty and makes my eyes water from time to time.

Movies, yeah. The worst was an oldie (couldn't put a date to it) that I'd gone to see by myself: Closely Watched Trains. It was bad during the movie, but I sat in the car afterwards and cried hard.

Movies, almost never. Never at unhappy scenes, but if I do cry, it's at the start at the final conclusion scene, at least, if it's a happy conclusion...

Books, yes, there are a few books, even though I might have read them several times that I won't keep my eyes dry. And unlike with movies, I'll have a lump in my throat at the unhappy parts...

I cry at some AT&T commercials. So some movies? yep! Books? You betcha!

One movie I can think of off the bat that Iʻve watched several times and cried like a baby each time is Father of the Bride. It has less to do with the actual movie and more to do with the love between father and daughter and this whole father of the bride thing I never got to experience (and never will). it makes me bawl every time.

Those are the kind of movies that will never see me crying... If I do cry at a movie, it's always an animal movie... The last one I've cried with was "Eight Below"... It was heart breaking! Especially that last scene...

Oh, there is also a series on Animal Planet that leaves me with a lump in my throat... Animal Precinct. If you see what humans can do with their animal companions without even feeling remorse...

I agree. They vast amounts of Stephen King writings that have been destroyed on the silver screen is heart breaking. I hate to see so many original ideas tossed in the crapper.

Old Yeller and The Yearling - are the first movies I remember crying at. I can't watch them any more - since I know what is going to happen!
