Hi everyone,
I'm looking into buying a Kindle 3 and I am also from Canada. I was just reading all your info to try and figure out how I would go about registering the Kindle and where to make an Amazon account.

So please correct me if I am wrong and sorry for all the questions.......... First of all, my parents have a PO Box address in the states that I could use......So I would make an account with Amazon.com (not ca) and enter my mailing adderss as the US address, but enter my billing address and credit card info as my canadian one???? And this would allow me to download books off of Amazon.com where there are more choices??? What if I would like to download a Canadian newspaper or magazine?? My last question is, if it is registered to Amazon.com, will I still be able to use the Wifi anywhere right?

Thank you so much for your help.

First make sure you're registered with Amazon.com and .ca. Order your Kindle and have it sent to you. When it arrives it will be already registered to you. Don't worry about a US address. Should a problem arise in the future (extra purchase fees, say), go to the Manage Your Kindle on the Amazon Kindle page, under Your Country have it read "United States". I have done so, and I have a Canadian shipping address and a Canadian credit card. Never had a problem (yet).

Sorry, I forgot to add, you have to purchase Kindle ebooks from Amazon.com. Some magazines and newspapers are available, and the 3G, Wi-fi works everywhere you can receive it. Really the whole process is hopelessly easy. No worries.

You do know that there is a border between the two countries, right?
